As the leaves turn and the air takes on that crisp, invigorating edge, we can’t help but feel that autumn has finally arrived. It’s the season that beckons us to cosy up, share warm smiles, and relish the simple joys of life. And at Holdenhurst, we’ve already had a busy October.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
At the start of the month, our tenants organised and held a Macmillan Coffee morning for friends and family. They raised a brilliant £188 through the sales of their home-baked cakes and a fabulous raffle. Well done all!
Defibrillator Fund Raising – Bring and Buy Sale
Our tenants are also fundraising to buy a defibrillator for the Holdenhurst scheme, with any funds raised being matched by Abbeyfield South Downs. To help raise funds they held a bring-and-buy sale in the well-being room. Watch this space for more news on this initiative.
On the 19th October, we enjoyed a special Harvest Festival service at Holdenhurst, held by Pastor Andy Caldwell from the Welcome Baptist Church, Heathfield. Tenants donated goods for the food collection, while our resident flower arranger and tenant Gill provided the lovely harvest display.
