We are currently recruiting for the following role(s):


Domestic, Heathfield

12 hours per week: 10am – 2pm each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Job Purpose

A Domestic is required for our sheltered housing scheme to keep the communal areas clean, tidy, and safe for our tenants. Holdenhurst is more than a home; it is a neighbourhood, a community, and a family.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake cleaning duties in areas as directed by the Scheme Manager.
  • Clean and maintain our guest room, offices, and communal areas within the scheme, including removing the rubbish, cleaning, and dusting surfaces, and mopping and vacuuming floors.
  • Refill and restock cleaning supplies and toiletries. Be responsible for ordering and maintaining cleaning equipment stock.
  • Carry out minor maintenance tasks such as unblocking toilets and unclogging sinks.
  • Maintain Health & Safety and safe working practices at all times. Comply with all COSHH regulations.
  • Report maintenance issues immediately, e.g., broken equipment
  • Ensure appropriate records are kept and audits completed
  • Work in line with Abbeyfield values, relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Observe organisational, professional, ethical, and legal boundaries.
  • Attend training courses as identified and agreed upon for appropriate development.

Essential Knowledge Required

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable. Post subject to enhanced DBS check.
